IJVD, the journal of vehicle engineering, automotive technology and components, has been established for over a quarter of a century as an international authoritative reference in the field. It publishes the Proceedings of the International Association for Vehicle Design, which is an independent, non-profit-making learned society that exists to develop, promote and coordinate the science and practice of vehicle design and safety.

IJVD publishes original and review papers, technical reports, case studies, conference reports, vehicle and component manufacturers| information, management reports, book reviews, and notes, commentaries, and news. Contribution may be by submission or invitation, and suggestions for special issues and publications are welcome.

Driving into old age

Worldwide the number of drivers over the age of 65 is increasing rapidly. As such, there is an urgency in the need to design vehicles that are ergonomically suited to this demographic to accommodate physical ailments and limitations that are usually not seen in younger people.
