Newly announced title: International Journal of Ecological Bioscience and Biotechnology

Professor Madjid Tavana has taken over as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Management and Decision Making. Professor Tavana, Professor of Business Systems and Analytics and Lindback Distinguished Chair of Information Systems and Decision Sciences at La Salle University in the USA, is also Editor-in-Chief of another Inderscience title, the International Journal of Applied Decision Sciences.

Professor Constantin Zopounidis has been appointed as an Academician of the RACEF (Royal Academy of Economic and Finance Sciences of Spain). Professor Zopounidis is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Financial Engineering and Risk Management and the International Journal of Multicriteria Decision Making.

Dr. Daphne Halkias has been appointed to take charge of the International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies. Dr. Halkias holds positions at the Northcentral University, USA and the University of Bergamo, Italy.

Professor Alain Bernard, from IRCCyN - Ecole Centrale de Nantes in France, has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Product Lifecycle Management. The previous editor, Professor Abdelaziz Bouras, will continue to support the journal and will remain on the Board.

Somalia is to get its first female foreign minister in a cabinet formed by Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon. Fauzia Yusuf Haji Adan described her inclusion as "historic" for both the country and Somali women in particular. Thomas Vitiello, Ali Çarkoğlu and Mert Moral were recently awarded the Elizabeth H. Nelson Prize prize for the Best Paper from a Society in Transition. The presentation took place at the 2012 WAPOR (World Association for Public Opinion) annual conference in Hong-Kong 14-16 June. Their paper, Voter Advice Applications in Practice: Answers to Some Key Questions from Turkey, will be published in the International Journal of Electronic Governance vol. 5(3/4), due in December. It is part of a special issue on Voting Advice Applications and the State of the Art Theory, Practice and Comparative Insights. Professor Maria Claudia Lucchetti has been appointed to edit the International Journal of Environmental Policy and Decision Making. Professor Lucchetti is from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Roma Tre in Italy.

The Inderscience Online Collection has gone over the 50,000 mark for published papers online. The 50,000th paper published was 'Potential use of transport and dispersion model output to supplement Allied Tactical Publication-45 hazard area prediction templates' by Nathan Platt and Leo Jones, discussing the effect of wind changes on NATOs early warnings for nuclear/chemical/biological incidents. The paper was published in the Int. J. of Environment and Pollution (2012), Vol.48, No.1/2/3/4, pp.3038. The fully-searchable database represents a major research collection and may be searched free of charge at www.inderscience.com. Professor Xue-wen (William) Chen has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Computational Intelligence in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology. Professor Chen is Department Chair of the Department of Computer Science at Wayne State University in the United States.

Dr. Giovanni Cerulli has been appointed as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Computational Economics and Econometrics. Dr. Cerulli is from the Italian National Research Council (CNR) Institute for Economic Research on Firms and Growth (CERIS). He replaces founding editor Dr. Christos Floros, who remains on the editorial team.

Distinguished Professor Toly Chen has been appointed Editor-in-Chief to develop the International Journal of Internet Manufacturing and Services. Professor Chen is from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Systems Management at the Feng Chia University in Taiwan

Professor Johan Potgieter has been appointed the new Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Intelligent Systems Technologies and Applications. Professor Potgieter is from the Massey University School of Engineering and Advanced Technology

Distinguished Professor Toly Chen has been appointed Editor-in-Chief to develop the International Journal of Lean Enterprise Research. Professor Chen is from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Systems Management at the Feng Chia University in Taiwan

The International Journal of Bio-Inspired Computation has been selected for indexing by Science Citation Index and will be assigned an impact factor in due course, normally within three years.

Following the resignation of the founding Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Computing Science and Mathematics for personal reasons, Professor Zhihua Cui will take over as Editor-in-Chief with Dr. Zhiwei Cui as Executive Editor. Professor Zhihua Cui is from the Complex System and Computational Intelligence Laboratory at the Taiyuan University of Science and Technology in China, and Dr. Zhiwei Cui from the Northwestern University's Department of Mechanical Engineering in the USA.

Professor Constantin Zopounidis received an award from ESCP Europe for his long-standing research contribution in the field of financial engineering and decision making, during the 2nd International Conference of Financial Engineering & Banking Society, London, 6-7 June 2012. Professor Constantin Zopounidis is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Financial Engineering and Risk Management and the International Journal of Multicriteria Decision Making. This is the first time that a Professor has been given the ESCP award. In future years, other outstanding professors are expected to be recognized by the ESCP. Professor Sergio Nesmachnow has agreed to take over the editorship of the International Journal of Metaheuristics from Dr. Christine Mumford. Professor Nesmachnow is Aggregate Professor in the Numerical Center (CeCal) at Computer Science Institute of the University of the Republic in Uruguay. Dr. Mumford proposed and developed the journal successfully through to publication of it first volume. Professor Leonard Barolli from the Fukuoka Institute of Technology (FIT) Department of Information and Communication Engineering in Japan has agreed to take over the development of the International Journal of Adaptive and Innovative Systems with effect from 1 February this year. Dr. Barolli has experience as Associate Editor of the International Journal of Grid and Utility Computing and serves on the Boards of other international journals and on the Programme Committees of international conferences. We welcome his appointment and wish him every success with the continued development of IJAIS.

Prof. Kai S. Koong, Chair of the CIS and Quantitative Methods Department at The University of Texas - Pan American, has taken over as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Electronic Healthcare. Professor Koong is the recipient of the 2011 Southwest Decision Sciences Institute (SWDSI) Distinguished Service Award. We thank Prof. Chang T. Hsieh for his sterling work in developing the title to successful publication and wish Professor Koong well in his work in developing further the journal.
