A Statement from the International Journal of Strategic Business Alliances' new Editor in Chief, Prof. Shirley Yeung, on IJSBA's Mission
13 August, 2025
As the new Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Strategic Business Alliances, Prof. Shirley Yeung would like to emphasise the need for international community dialogues with contemporary issues with strategies for impacts; for example, strategies to achieve the outcomes of COP30 and UNSDGs, such as the "Green/ Blue Entrepreneurial Education Project" and integrated SDG x ESG x jam art co-creation processes, which aim to foster sustainable development aligned with SDG 2030.
Strategic business alliance is crucial for green/blue entrepreneurship education projects and publications, which emphasise developing multidisciplinary knowledge with a mindset of sustainable development beyond 2030, skill sets to innovate eco-friendly and humanistic solutions, and the promotion of social-environmental responsibility. Hence, multi-disciplinary knowledge with actions of projects and publications are well aligned with the mission of the International Journal of Strategic Business Alliances:
"IJSBA considers inter-firm partnerships as an alternative and effective strategic option for gaining and sustaining competitive advantage. It focuses on inter-firm collaboration in a variety of forms in various industries in both national and international environments. It promotes our understanding patterns and strategies of such ventures in the competitive global marketplace."
The green/blue entrepreneurial education project convened by Prof. Shirley Yeung leverages theories such as design thinking for problem-solving via analysis of learning and publications, webinars with stakeholders, and curriculum redesign to foster creativity and empathy, enabling the community to understand real-world sustainability issues and develop innovative and practical solutions.
Fostering strategic alliances across borders and sectors is critical. The International Journal of Strategic Business Alliance emphasises the importance of collaborative networks in achieving sustainable development goals. In the post-COP30 landscape, such alliances can facilitate actions, projects, publications, knowledge exchange and technology transfer, accelerating SDGs for building a resilient, inclusive and better future.
