Mass customisable products not only include manufactured products, but also software and service products.
The coverage of IJMassC includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:
- Fundamental issues of mass customisation (variety, modularity, commonality, adaptability, flexibility, reusability, customisability, economies of scale and scope, etc.)
- Customer engineering, kansei engineering, requirement management, product definition, product line planning, product portfolios
- Product architecture, product platform, product family architecture, modular and integral product architecture, platform development and customisation, variant handling, design modelling and support
- Agile, flexible and reconfigurable processes, systems and supply chains, process and assembly planning, production management
- Logistics engineering and supply chain management, early supplier and customer involvement
- Enabling technologies, business models
- Product, process, system and facility configuration and modularisation
- Performance management in customisation including the cost of variety, time to market, etc.
- Computational intelligence in mass customisation (intelligent modelling of products, product platforms, product variants, product families, product portfolios, etc.)
- Knowledge management, enterprise modelling, e-business and e-commerce, web and internet applications
- Decision supports for mass customisation
