Abstract: This paper examines the use of design analysis in the development of heavy duty vehicles. Some unique characteristics of heavy duty vehicle design are discussed. Today's use of design analysis technology, analysis loads and criteria, and analysis project management philosophies are discussed, as well as possible future developments in each of the three areas.
