Abstract: This paper examines the use of design analysis in the development of heavy duty vehicles. Some unique characteristics of heavy duty vehicle design are discussed. Today|s use of design analysis technology, analysis loads and criteria, and analysis project management philosophies are discussed, as well as possible future developments in each of the three areas.
