Abstract/Summary: Collaborative Product Development (CPD) inevitably faces the fundamental challenge of balancing collaboration and security. General security requirements of CPD include confidentiality, integrity, availability, non-repudiation, and so on. While there is a large amount of work in the security literature on these security properties, few of them consider the specific context of CPD. In this paper, we will review some recent research efforts in both secure CPD systems and general collaborative systems, and discuss possible routes to adopt research results of general collaborative systems into CPD systems. It is our belief that our study would build a bridge between CPD and security, and become a good starting point for future research on secure CPD systems.
