Abstract/Summary: A review and analysis of the product lifecycle, paying attention in a business and engineering perspective, is first presented as a base for the description and analysis of the interrelations among: product development, manufacturing process development and manufacturing system development focused on the entire lifecycle concept. The analysis and description of these interrelations is regard as a basic objective of this paper, considering that, for the development of products, other entities as the manufacturing process and manufacturing system which are conceived in an enterprise are required to be developed in a concurrent manner. A main focus on the lifecycle concept is followed in this work in order to gain a strong conceptual platform for further implementation, integration or generation of technology to foster or sustain the product lifecycle management objective in the enterprise. A useful holistic framework for modeling and capture or store a project, related to the product, manufacturing process and manufacturing system development in a concurrent manner, and through all the lifecycle, (which is considered as the Global Product Development Project concept) is obtained as a result of this work. An entire perspective of the product development global process is presented in a considerable detailed manner. In this context, the term Global means "total" more than "worldwide" although the last, is definitely included into the concept.
