Techno-structural intervention and its effect on readiness for change in the Indonesian government-owned corporation

Abstract: Techno-structural interventions emphasising on improving the organisational effectiveness and human performance, which is focused on technology and structure. For a government-owned corporation to assist employees in being motivated and prepared for change, it is essential that managers, employees, and all stakeholders understand factors may influence readiness for change. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the techno-structural intervention consisting of restructuring organisation, employee involvement, and work design toward readiness for change. The data were collected through a survey using self-reported questionnaire and purposive sampling. The entire population of 73 employees was sampled in this study including permanent employees. The findings indicate that readiness for change was affected by employee involvement. This study was also found a significant effect of work design on readiness for change. However, the results revealed that restructuring organisation has no effect on readiness for change. Additionally, the implications and limitations were discussed.
