Abstract: This paper presents a design method of high gain adaptive output feedback controller for non-linear systems with higher order relative degree and some uncertainties in control input term. The controlled system is transformed by two virtual filters and the control input is designed so as to make the virtual filter's signal a high gain adaptive control signal using backstepping strategy in the filter dynamics. The proposed method is useful in cases where only the output signals are available.
