High-throughput sequencing and molecular imaging technologies marked the beginning of a new era for modern translational medicine and personalised healthcare. The impact of having the human sequence and personalised digital images in hand has also created tremendous demands on the development of powerful supercomputing, statistical learning and artificial intelligence approaches to handle the massive bioinformatics and personalised healthcare data which will obviously have a profound effect on how biomedical research will be conducted toward the improvement of human health and prolonging human life in the future.
IJFIPM, in partnership with the International Society of Intelligent Biological Medicine, touches tomorrow’s bioinformatics and personalised medicine through today’s efforts in promoting the research, education and awareness of this upcoming inter/multidisciplinary field. The development of methodologies in functional informatics and personalised medicine utilises supercomputing, statistics learning, and artificial intelligence in handling the information and data from biomedical data sets, gene and protein sequence information, patient's genotype, disease phonotype, level of gene expression, lipidomics, and all available biological and clinical information to discover the biological mechanisms of living organisms, stratify disease, design new medication, plann a therapy, or initiate a preventative measure that is particularly suited to that human or patient at the time of administration
Functional informatics and personalised medicine are interactive disciplines that hold great promise for the advancement of cutting-edge research and development in biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences. Research and advances in these two areas influence board ranges of medical and engineering fields. IJFIPM provides a common platform for the cross-fertilisation of ideas, and aims to help shape scientific knowledge and medical achievements by bridging these two very important and complementary disciplines into an interactive and attractive forum.
Objectives
The objectives of IJFIPM are to promote dialogue among researchers from multiple disciplines and the advancement of innovative medicine, biotechnology, environmental, biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences.
