Abstracting/Indexing Services and Journal Lists

IJCB is a venue dedicated to the publication of novel approaches to biometrics based on cognitive aspects of human behaviour. This recent approach to biometrics typically utilises biosignals (such as EEG and ECG) produced by cognitive and emotional brain states as the authentication medium. These biosignals can be acquired under a variety of circumstances involved in human-machine interaction. Therefore, cognitive biometrics fills the divide between behavioural and physiological biometrics, and in many ways can be envisioned as bridging this gap. In order to fulfil this bridging role, cognitive biometrics relies on approaches not only from within the biometrics community proper, but also from wider communities such as psychophysiology and neuroscience, in order to meet the challenges of providing novel, effective, and efficient authentication schemes. Ultimately, IJCB calls upon the scientific community at large to consider how physiological processes associated with cognition can be harnessed appropriately to extract person-specific individuality in quantifiable terms.

 Go Top  Objectives
The primary objective of IJCB is to provide a medium through which researchers in all fields relevant to cognitive biometrics can exchange their ideas. Biometrics is ultimately a process that investigates and develops strategies that enable secure access to information. The domain is therefore global, and IJCB emphasises this aspect of biometrics. We encourage the dissemination of data through the use of online data repositories, allowing research groups on a global scale to utilise common datasets. Publicly-available datasets provide the opportunity for researchers to compare their specific approaches, fostering a comparative and collaborative approach to the discipline. In addition, the establishment of an international standard(s) for cognitive biometrics would provide a means for integrating this branch of biometrics within government frameworks, engendering widespread integration into a common global biometric framework. The ultimate goal of academic publications is to provide a medium that informs the community at large on the latest advances within a domain – for us, this domain is cognitive biometrics.

 Go Top  Readership

IJCB provides a medium that facilitates the exchange of ideas and latest results among members of academia, industry, and legislative bodies alike. Papers included in IJCB will be relevant to a wide-ranging audience, including members of the engineering, computer science, biometrics, and related fields.
