Special Issue on: "Collaborative Service Development"

Guest Editors: Prof. Dr. Christiane Hipp and Dr. Birgit Verworn, Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus, Germany

The value creation potential of inter-firm collaboration has accelerated a growing number of alliances during the past decade. Benefits in terms of innovation through collaboration encouraged increasing innovation partnerships in various industries. However, very few studies have analysed collaborative service development. One reason resides in a strong tradition of innovation research that promotes new technologies whilst most services industries are rarely considered to undertake formal R&D processes.

This special issue will investigate collaborative service development and its organisational structures with emphasis given to innovative services. Empirical studies, case studies, best practice and theoretical contributions are welcome.
