Abstract: This study proposes a product design method using the macroscopic shape feature 'complexity' for emotional design by styling. This method consists of the quantitative representation method of the macroscopic shape feature 'complexity' using curvature integration, and the shape generation method that can generate curved profiles reflecting the inputted 'complexity' using genetic algorithms. The validity of this method based on application for diverse curved profiles is shown, and the vehicle design using the shape generation method is introduced.
