Abstract/Summary: The paper deals with the last developments of the STEP standard in the field of geometric data exchanges and especially with STEP AP203 Edition 2. These enhancements will allow the neutral exchanges of non-frozen models are detailed in this paper. Afterwards, a case study is described in order to show the benefits of this new standard. The implementation of these new STEP Parts combined with the PDM schema is discussed. It could enhance the interoperability of CAD and PDM activities.
