Abstract/Summary: The manufacturing industry has been facing unpredictable challenges brought on mostly by ever changing customer demands. To cope with competitive and dynamically changing conditions, the manufacturing industry of today needs to be equipped with advanced technologies based on substantial infrastructure including network facilities, which can support high speed communication and rapid data transactions in a stable manner. Due to the rapid and widespread availability of the Internet during the past decade, ebusiness has been evolving and impacting business processes and systems such as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). E-Manufacturing is referred to as a system methodology enabling the integration of manufacturing operations and functional objectives of an enterprise by using intelligent IT technologies such as Internet, tether-free communication methods including wireless networking or web-based connections. As a part of the e-Manufacturing project funded by the Korean government, we have developed four kinds of hub systems for collaborative design of molds/blow-products, collaborative production of molds, and engineering collaboration. We briefly introduce functions and architectures of each system and outcomes from the project..
