Abstract/Summary: The growing importance of collaborative design has heightened the need to find better ways of exchanging CAD. Because commercial CAD exchange programs are limited in terms of keeping the design intent, a macro-parametric method is suggested as an alternative. However the exchange of CAD data still has difficulties because of a persistent naming problem. In this study, a point-based naming method is suggested as a means of solving the persistent naming problem.
