Special Issue on: "Focusing on Electronic Feedback: Feasible Progress or Just Unfulfilled Promises?"

Technology enhanced assessment, with its current emphasis on electronic feedback, is of current strategic importance as it forms part of the growing global e-learning industry. One of the many challenges of higher education today is to provide students with clearer and more detailed feedback after they have submitted their assignments and as an integral part of electronic formative assessment. There is more than ever a need for a pedagogically-driven model for e-feedback that will empower students to take more control of their own learning and become more reflective.

Subject Coverage
This Special Issue addresses a number of themes with respect to e-feedback which include, but are not limited to:

• E-feedback in assessment
• E-feedback as part of a holistic, dialogic process
• Socially responsible and effective feedback
• Theoretical influences on e-feedback and their implications for the construction of new systems
• How can e-feedback help students take control of their own learning?
• How can the qualities of e-feedback be improved to support students?
• How does e-feedback contribute to the effectiveness of learning environments to promote learning? How can its contribution be assessed?

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere
