DIS2024: Special Issue on: "Aesthetics and Empowerment"

Aesthetics in design are known to be empowering in terms of various perspectives in one's life. This special ssue aims to explore innovative approaches, methodologies and technologies that can further enhance the role of aesthetics in empowering individuals in the digital age. By delving into the relationship between aesthetics and empowerment, we seek to foster discussions and collaborations among researchers, practitioners, designers, artists and industry professionals. This special issue will provide a platform for sharing insights, exchanging ideas, and exploring new and emerging trends in this exciting area. The Guest Editors will be inviting substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the ACM Conference on Designing Interactive Systems 2024 (DIS2024), for review and potential publication, but are also inviting other experts to submit articles for this call.

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. (N.B. Conference papers may only be submitted if the paper has been completely re-written and if appropriate written permissions have been obtained from any copyright holders of the original paper).

All papers are refereed through a peer review process.
