HELORS-2023: Special Issue on: "Decision Support Systems and Smart Technologies"

Guest Editors:
Assoc. Prof. Vassilios C. Moussas, Assist. Prof. Isaak Vryzidis and Assoc. Prof. Nikos Tsotsolas, University of West Attica, Greece

Decision support systems (DSS) and smart technologies are two key areas that are increasingly gaining prominence in today's fast-paced business world. A DSS is a computer-based system that helps decision-makers make more informed decisions by providing them with relevant information and analytical tools. On the other hand, smart technologies refer to the use of intelligent systems and devices to automate tasks and improve efficiency.

The combination of these two areas has led to the development of a new generation of decision support systems that incorporate smart technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the Internet of Things. These systems can process large volumes of data in real time, provide insights into complex problems, and make recommendations based on past patterns and trends.

This special issue aims to explore the latest trends and developments in these areas. We invite researchers and practitioners to submit original research articles, case studies and reviews that address relevant topics.

The Guest Editors will be inviting substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the 9th International Symposium and 31st National Conference of Operational Research (HELORS 2023), for review and potential publication, but are also inviting other experts to submit articles for this call.
