The expansion of Internet of Things (IoT) devices in the field of healthcare and well-being are one of the key drivers of the shift to digital healthcare. Due in part to the present Coronavirus pandemic, these gadgets enable linked and remote management of individuals' healthy living and welfare. IoT devices, often known as wearables, like fitness trackers and portable blood pressure and insulin monitors, provide a staggering amount of data that may be analysed to help with time- and delay-sensitive decision-making. Current approaches, however, rely on cloud-based data processing and administration, which does not allow decision-making that must be made quickly. Therefore, leveraging the IoT and edge devices, new and disruptive technologies relating to artificial intelligence (AI) have the ability to address the issues relating to citizens' health and wellness. With the help of these technologies, data processing may take place closer to the users, at the network edge, making it possible to gather and analyse vital information in real-time, providing healthcare professionals with the knowledge they need to save lives.
