Abstract: Designing and managing a supply chain is a complex and challenging task because one of the key issues of data warehousing for supply chain management lies in the readiness of enterprise integration by coordinating the available resources and specific needs of the company with a long-term strategic plan. In this paper, we investigate data warehousing for supply chain management by studying two large US companies with distinct business models and levels of business strategy to analyse such critical issues as information technology infrastructure, implementation strategy, operational efficiency, and cost effectiveness on data warehouse in practice. Managerial implications are then discussed.
