Abstract: Geting bituminous coal was fractionated into extracts 1-5 (E1-E5) and residue by sequential extraction with petroleum ether, carbon disulfide (CDS), methanol, acetone, and isometric CDS/acetone mixed solvent at room temperature. According to analysis with a gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer, condensed arenes (CAs) and dialkyl phthalates (DAPs) were enriched into E2 and E4, respectively. The CAs and DAPs were further enriched by gradient elution in a medium-pressure preparative liquid chromatography. As a result, 3 CAs and 4 DAPs were successfully isolated in high purities.
