Abstract: An attempt is made to discover what statistical characteristics originating from operation cause pure exponentiality in the level intersection functions of the output signs of road vehicles in the case of strictly linear models. Empirical studies were carried out on a theoretical basis and by means of a digital computer. Excluding all disturbing circumstances, the effect of environmental parameters and the distribution functions of different road conditions and speeds on the expected values of level intersection numbers were clearly observed.
