Abstract: A hot-force coupling finite element method (FEM) model was established and a two-dimensional cutting slice method was introduced to investigate the heat transfer and stress variation as well as solidification and deformation behaviour of the thin continuous casting slab with core reduction. The influence of technological parameters on casting process and solidification of the casting slab was analysed based on the simulation results.
