Abstract: The relevance of alignment between business strategy and its operational performance has been increasingly studied. Different approachescan be found in the academic and practitioner|s bibliography, emphasising the importance of linking effectiveness to goals, objectives and requirements of organisations, in order to manage operational performance continuously. The evaluation issue is still rather controversial at universities and research centres, and it usually brings strong opposition within the S&T environments. That is especially so when the utilisation of quantitative measures is proposed. In order to contribute to the evaluation process in S&T environments, this paper presents the network of performance indicators prepared for a Brazilian Technological Research Centre. These indicators reflect the missions of the Centre, and should be used to guide the long-term strategic plan, as well as establish the ranking of the performance of technical divisions.
