Abstract: We describe selected results obtained on diluted magnetic semiconductors, from the growth by molecular beam epitaxy to the study of the magnetic, magneto-optical and magneto-transport properties associated to carrier induced ferromagnetism in layers, quantum wells, nanocolumns, and to the coherent manipulation of a single Mn spin in a quantum dot.

Keywords: magnetic semiconductors; quantum dots; spin dynamics; semiconducting nanostructures; nanotechnology; ferromagnetism.
