Abstract: Czechoslovakia|s industrial sector will play a key role in the country|s transition from communism to democracy and private enterprise. Following a brief evaluation of some of the effects of the so-called Velvet Revolution, the mechanics of and progress in privatization are described, along with an assessment of the industrial sector|s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
