Abstract: The objective of this paper is to understand the similarities and dissimilarities of Knowledge Management (KM) implementation issues for different selected sectors of Indian engineering industries. A set of hypotheses has been formulated and tested through a postal survey. The findings of the sectorial analysis show that the selected sectors significantly agree on the competitive priorities and knowledge types, but disagree on using Information Technology (IT) at different managerial positions, introducing new ideas and technologies and applying KM in different functional areas. Furthermore, it indicates that KM practices have their own significance, but the selected sectors adopt them as per their own requirements.
