Abstract: This paper presents a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) thermal model and the decoupling PID parameters for a commercialised temperature controller. The PID tuning can be performed by using the physical parameters. In addition, the problem of decoupling control is described. An improvement strategy based on robust observer is also presented in the extruder experiment results.
