Abstract: This study proposes a model incorporating Information Technology (IT) capabilities, social network resources and a moderator of the form of communication to explain the factors that influence how managers perceive the creativity of information system developers. In a horizontal communication network, the results show a positive correlation between betweenness centrality and creativity, and a negative correlation between outcloseness centrality and creativity. In a vertical communication network, the results show that Computer Self-Efficacy (CSE) is negatively associated with creativity, while domain-specific IT skills are positively associated with creativity. Moreover, betweenness centrality is negatively related to creativity, and outcloseness centrality is positively related to creativity.
Keywords: creativity perception; information systems; system developers; social networking; computer self-efficacy; CSE; enterprise innovation; information technology; communication.
