Abstract: Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) provide a wide range of solutions for several critical issues related with the management of education. Additionally the management of education is a domain with very different research issues. In this position article we apply a knowledge management approach in the discussion for the critical role of ICTs towards more effective management in education. This knowledge management-based approach is exploited and the main propositions are anchored in a four-level approach: Artefact–Team–Organisation–Network.
