Abstract: The two-dimensional numerical simulations using unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes are performed to investigate the aerodynamic performance of SD7062 airfoil with a 0.30c single-slotted flap at cruise, takeoff, and landing conditions for various angles of attack corresponding to pre-and post-stall regimes. The time-averaged aerodynamic characteristics of the configurations are compared to the different angles of attack results and other configurations. The maximum lift coefficient value of 3.302 is obtained with 35° flap deflection for landing condition (L-2 configuration) at α = 14°. The flow is fully attached to the flap for all deployed flap configurations except L-3 configuration at the stall angle of attack. The gap sizes from 0.010c to 0.037c with constant overlap size of -0.004c and 40° flap deflection at landing condition α = 0° and α = 12° are analysed to achieve the optimum gap size. It is found to be 0.016c.
