Abstract: In fact, all over the world, universities have to face new challenges in order to assert themselves as constructive organisations, generators of knowledge and trainers of responsible and competent citizens. For this reason, the role of the entrepreneurial university in the promotion of the entrepreneurial spirit is considered fundamental, which must have an important place among the themes of entrepreneurship. Therefore, the analysis of the factors that help with the development of the entrepreneurial university is a current theme. In this work, we have carried out a qualitative exploratory survey using semi-structured interviews with 24 heads of Tunisian universities in order to determine the impact of their age and gender on the development of the entrepreneurial university. Our results showed that a university led by a young male head is more entrepreneurial than other universities. In fact, our research emphasises the importance of new variables that can improve the understanding of the development process of an entrepreneurial university.
