Abstract: Power workers often lose contact during field operations. Many mountainous areas have complex terrain and even some mountain areas are blind areas for communication. Once the operator loses contact in the area, the current common field search and rescue methods usually cannot achieve good results in the application of communication blind spots. Therefore, this paper proposes a method of search and rescue location based on acoustic wave communication in the blind zone of communication. Utilise the sound wave signal's good penetration and diffraction ability to solve the problem of search and rescue positioning in the blind area of communication. This article mainly focuses on the design of the system sound source, the design of the ground beacon of the receiving device, the design of the positioning algorithm for the ground sound source and the overall system software. The search and rescue positioning system based on acoustic wave communication has been researched and designed in detail.

Keywords: sound wave communication; sound recognition; sound source localisation.
