Title: Mediating role of emotional intelligence in the relationship between self-directed learning and critical thinking

Abstract: The aim of the study was to examine the mediating effects of the emotional intelligence in the relationship between learners' self-directed learning and critical thinking abilities. In accordance with the aim of the research, critical thinking disposition scale, self-directed learning scale, and emotional learning scale were administrated to a sample of 303 university students and results showed that critical thinking and self-directed learning were positively related to emotional intelligence. Besides, analysis showed that the self-directed learning on critical thinking ability was mediated by emotional intelligence.
