Abstract: Constant flow valve compensated hole-entry hydrostatic journal bearings under couple stress and Newtonian lubricants have been investigated numerically in the present study. FEM has been applied on Reynolds equation, used for couple stress and Newtonian lubricants for obtaining the fluid film pressure. For different values of parameters of couple stress lubricant and externally applied load, the results have been simulated. The obtained results indicate that the static as well as the dynamic behaviour of bearings, gets improved under couple stress lubricants than the similar bearings with Newtonian lubricant.
