Bond graphs for vehicle stability analysis

International Journal of Vehicle Design (IJVD), Vol. 5, No. 4, 1984

Abstract: The virtues of bond graph modelling are exploited for analysing ground vehicle stability. A bond graph model is first constructed, in a rather contrived manner, for a rigid body vehicle. From this basic model, transverse load dynamics, wheel compliance, frame bending, and more, can be easily included. The resulting overall model yields first-order state equations in a direct manner. The procedure is demonstrated through several examples.
