Abstract: Identification of tyre parameters is essential to create an accurate tyre model. This paper describes a measurement and optimisation work as part of a multibody dynamical tyre model development. The tyre model is a modified brush model, which is simplified for planar motions, and extended by tyre mass point to take into account the continuum property of the tyre. In a brush model the most important parameter is the stiffness of the tyre elements. This stiffness should be identified with static tests using a special test bench. With this test bench it was measured both in longitudinal and lateral direction with different inflation pressures and wheel loads. The measured stiffness cannot be used directly in the tyre model; optimisation should be performed as part of the identification process. Finally, validation was performed to check the results of the identification.
