Steering and suspension system of a full car model using fuzzy reasoning based on single input rule modules

Abstract: This paper presents the development of a steering and suspension system of a full car model using fuzzy reasoning. The model to be considered here is described by a linear system subject to irregular excitation from a road surface. The steering angles of front/rear wheels and the active controls at front/rear and left/right suspension locations are respectively determined by using fuzzy reasoning based single input rule modules (SIRMs). The simulation result indicates that the proposed steering and suspension system is very effective in the performance of vehicle maneuverability and ride comfort.
