Abstract: A dual closed loop direct current control using robust right coprime factorisation is proposed for a mine hoist system. In this paper, the electrical architecture of direct current control is set up for the mine hoist. According to the characteristics of direct current transmission system, dual closed loop control scheme is presented. Current controller using PI regulator for inner current loop is designed and speed controller using robust right coprime factorisation for outer speed loop is employed. Meanwhile, tracking control is also considered. Moreover, security control measures are discussed. Finally, simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed design method.
