Abstract: This paper attempts to study the important relationship between firms' corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and its effect on the commitment shown by the employees working in these organisations. Data was collected from 813 employees working in diverse industries in India like oil and gas, power, and telecom. The study hypothesised and also found supportive evidence that there exists a positive relationship between CSR and employee commitment. The regression analysis confirmed a significant positive relationship between CSR and employee's organisational commitment. An additional finding of the study suggested that the amount of time that a person serves in the organisations also affects the employee commitment positively. The findings of the study provided great insights to management, regarding the important role CSR plays not only to the external stakeholders but also positively affects the commitment levels of its employees.
