Non-local coupling among oscillators mediated by fast travelling waves

Abstract: We propose a general model for coupling among oscillators mediated by wave propagation in the spatial region in which the oscillators are embedded. Particular cases are presented in one, two and three spatial dimensions. We present, as a numerical application, an investigation of phase and frequency synchronisation in a lattice of phase oscillators coupled according the general model.
