Image mining is an extended branch of data mining and is concerned with the process of knowledge discovery concerning images. Image mining deals with the extraction of image patterns from large collections of images.
Technological advances of the past decades have profoundly reshaped and enhanced all aspects of medical research and practice. Technology has continued to drive new medical advances in all areas.
This special issue will focus on cutting-edge medical IT research in topics such as data visualisation, brain interface, machine learning, segmentation and web mining.
Suitable topics include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Big data solutions in image mining
- Data representation and visualisation
- Biomedical information retrieval
- Brain-computer interfaces
- Content-based image retrieval
- Data mining
- Data mining algorithms
- Image mining
- Machine learning
- Medical and biological imaging
- Medical images and signal analysis
- Modelling, simulation and visualisation
- Molecular and cellular image analysis
- Segmentation of medical images
- Web mining
