Special Issue on: "Sustainable Technology, Innovation and Management"

Guest Editors:

Emerging management practices related to sustainable development are becoming prominent issues within political and organisational agendas. The primary objective is to introduce a conceptual framework of green strategies and technology management knowledge coupling tools, methodologies and practices related to sustainable development. Furthermore, once a framework of sustainable development is established, sustainability aspects may be measured effectively as part of technology management practices.

From a literature perspective, it is clear that sustainability aspects are not adequately addressed in technology management theories and practices. For this reason research on sustainable development has to advance scientific understanding in order to address a variety of areas related to sustainability, including systems analysis, environmental management, clean processes, green chemistry and green engineering.

The crucial point is to implement new management practices or technology strategic decisions for developing best sustainability criteria. In recent years managers have increasingly recognised the importance of strategies for corporate social and environmental responsibility. Today these are considered as the key drivers for companies’ success, particularly in terms of business and environmental performance. To realise these practices, the interpretation and interpolation of data has become an essential issue.

This special issue is open to researchers who are interested in studying and applying advanced research in finding correlations between theories and practices in the area of sustainability. The aim of the issue is to publish state-of-the-art research papers which address the diffusion and effectiveness of organisational innovations and new sustainable management practices. Analytical models, empirical studies and case-based studies are all welcome as well as articles exploring implications to the practice of management science concerning sustainability.

This issue will carry revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the MakeLearn and TIIM Joint International Conference “Managing Intellectual Capital and Innovation for Sustainable and Inclusive Society. However, submissions from researchers unable to participate in the above-mentioned conference are also encouraged to submit their papers for this issue.
