Special Issue on: "Cloud Computing Services: Brokering, SLA and Security"

Brokering and service level agreements (SLAs) have been among the most important requirements of grid computing systems. Admittedly, such requirements were rather limited to achieving the expected response time, application/system performance and meeting job deadlines.

In cloud computing systems, brokering and SLAs continue to be important requirements. However, they become much more complex due to the nature of the cloud (private and public clouds, mixed/hybrid clouds, multi-administrative domains, etc.), as well as new requirements to be included in the SLA: availability, security, recovery, data location and access, mediation, etc. The SLA formalises the expectations of users and cloud providers and acts as the contract for changes in the cloud service, and avoids unexpected circumstances. Brokering and monitoring are indispensable mechanisms to ensure both optimised infrastructure operability and meeting SLAs.

This special issue seeks submissions that provide a significant contribution to research on cloud computing services, with a special focus on brokering, SLA and security.

The issue will carry revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the 9^th International Conference on P2P, Parallel, Grid, Cloud and Internet Computing (3PGCIC 2014), but we also strongly encourage researchers unable to participate in the conference to submit articles for this call.

• Cloud computing security, cryptography and encryption in cloud SLAs

• Data privacy service level agreements (PLAs)
• Resource provisioning
• Cloud services monitoring
• Service level objectives (SLOs), measuring and monitoring
• SLA-based negotiation and brokering of cloud resources

Notes for Prospective Authors

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. (N.B. Conference papers may only be submitted if the paper has been completely re-written and if appropriate written permissions have been obtained from any copyright holders of the original paper).

All papers are refereed through a peer review process.
