Special Issue on: "Applied Optimisation"

Guest Editor:
Saoussen Krichen, University of Jendouba, Tunisia

Optimisation provides effective solutions for many practical situations such as logistics and transportation, production, water resources and scheduling problems.

The aim of this special issue is to present applied research in optimisation that underlines the benefits of solving decision problems by means of either exact of heuristics approaches. Theoretical, empirical and practical contributions are welcome, along with surveys.

The issue will carry revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the International Conference on Modeling, Simulation and Applied Optimization (ICMSAO’2013), but we also strongly encourage researchers unable to participate in the conference to submit articles for this call.

Subject Coverage
Suitable topics include but are not limited to:

  • Applied optimisation
  • Exact and heuristic approaches
  • Convex and non-convex models solutions
  • Case studies

Notes for Prospective Authors

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. Previous work published for conferences may be submitted, but only if the submission represents a substantial expansion (to be determined by the editors), text recycling is avoided, and relevant written permissions have been obtained from any copyright holders of the original paper.

All papers will be refereed through a peer review process.

All papers must be submitted online. To submit a paper, please read our Submitting articles page.

The Guest Editor is happy to discuss initial ideas for papers, and can be contacted directly: Dr. Saoussen Krichen: krichen_s@yahoo.fr
