Special Issue on: "Advances in Wireless Sensor Networks and their Applications"

Guest Editors:
Prof. Jiang Mingyan, Shandong University, China
Prof. Li Zhongming, Hubei University of Science and Technology, China

Wireless sensor networks are currently receiving international attention, and are a highly multidisciplinary, cutting edge area of research.

They combine distributed sensing and information processing technology, embedded computing technology, wireless communication and network technology into an organic whole, which will lead to a communications revolution in wireless technology, and to a medical and industrial revolution in sensor technology, so as to realise in the physical world the connection of the computing and human worlds.

Embedded sensor networks have very broad application prospects and potential application value in many important fields, such as military defence, industry and agriculture, urban management, biological medical, environmental monitoring, disaster relief, anti-terrorism, remote monitoring, etc.

They have attracted attention from both academia and industry in many countries and are considered as one of the highly influential technologies in the 21st century.

This special issue will provide a forum for researchers, industry professionals and academics interested in the latest developments in wireless sensor networks and their applications.
