Abstract: Water is the main contaminant of natural gas. Mostly, it is a natural element of a reservoir content. When dry gas is injected into a reservoir, it absorbs volume of water there. Together with water, it absorbs hydrocarbons, which can be natural elements of the reservoir or of artificial origin and contaminants which were injected in to the reservoir with natural gas. During a withdrawal, this water is separated. The separated water is called produced water. We focus on changes in chemistry of produced water during a withdrawal process and its possible impact on the withdrawal technology. [Received: December 9, 2009; Accepted: January 20, 2010]
