Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the use of Addition Learning e-Book (ALE) on Taiwanese first-grade students' addition performance. ALE was developed in both graphic and symbolic representations for students to learn addition concepts through the idea of making ten. The results of this study suggested that instruction in ALE had a statistically significant effect on the first-grade students' addition performance.
